LAHORE, Sept 5: World Bank officials have approached Pakistan to acquire services of the National Highways & Motorway Police for the training of their Bangladeshi counterparts.

Federal Communication Minister Ahmed Ali told APP on Friday that some WB officials had visited different sections of the motorway and observed the disciplined flow of vehicular traffic.

For their excellent performance, he said the World Bank had made a formal request to the Pakistan government to depute NH&MP officers to train the Bangladesh highway police.

A WB delegation held a detailed meeting with Federal Communication Secretary Iftikhar Rashid in this regard, he added.—APP
