Two lady doctors fired

Published September 6, 2003

RAHIM YAR KHAN, Sept 5: Two lady doctors of Sheikh Zaid Hospital’s gynae ward were sacked for negligence on Friday.

Sakina Bibi of Chak 69 was admitted to SZh on Sept 1, but gynaecologist Dr Tahira Jabeen did not visit the ward. MO Dr Shabina and HO Dr Farzana discharged the patient next day without checking, saying delivery would take some more time.

After a day, Sakina was again brought in serious condition and the baby died during delivery. Her kin took the body to principal Dr Eas Muhammad and asked for an inquiry. Finding the doctors guilty, additional MS fired Dr Sakina and Dr Farzana. — Correspondent
