ISLAMABAD: The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Saturday that since the Muharram moon was sighted on Saturday, the Islamic calendar year 1436 would begin on Sunday (Oct 26).

Ashura will be observed on Nov 4 (Tuesday).
