Union Bank in Colombo

KARACHI, Sept 5: Union Bank has opened its first international branch in Colombo after the acquisition of Mashreq Bank operations in Sri Lanka. It acquired both domestic and offshore banking units of Mashreq Bank in Sri Lanka, says a press release.

Governor central bank of Sri Lanka Mr. A.S. Jayawardena inaugurated the Union Bank branch. President and group CEO of Union Bank Mr. Shaukat Tarin who was leading a delegation to Colombo on this occasion promised to bring the best of banking practices to Sri Lanka. Union Bank operates in 19 cities of Pakistan with 42 branches.
