Edhi robbed

Published October 22, 2014

THE monsters who looted Abdul Sattar Edhi have established new records of moral and social depravity.

Edhi is known to the world for his charitable endeavours. Holding him hostage and robbing him of money and valuables that belonged to widows, orphans and the destitute places shame on our political leaders who have ample time for holding rallies across the country, making big speeches and empty promises but are at a loss for words when it is time to act.

A sum of Rs20 million and five kgs of gold are not the kind of liquid assets that should be stored in a cupboard. Karachi is a very unsafe city where valuables should be kept in a safe or locker and not at home, especially when they were kept on trust for others.

Now is the time for the MQM and PPP to launch a thorough investigation into the matter and bring the culprits to justice. If they successfully dealt with this case, they will have the electorate’s support without the need to challenge each other with the size and grandness of their political rallies.
