ISLAMABAD, Sept 4: Former All Parties’ Hurriyet Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said on Thursday that India should accept Kashmir as a dispute and initiate dialogue with all the parties concerned if it was sincere in establishing durable peace in the region.

In a telephonic interview to the PTV, he said that keeping in view the sensitivity of the dispute, Indian government should adopt solid steps and initiate dialogue with Pakistan and the Kashmiri leadership.

People of occupied Kashmir had been demanding that the India should adopt a sensible approach for the solution of the core issue of Kashmir, he said.

If anyone believed that peace in South Asia could be achieved without solving the Kashmir issue, it was wishful, he said.

He said the Indian government was using delaying tactics to avoid negotiations.—APP
