BAHAWALPUR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday told his political opponents to build a ‘new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’ before building ‘Naya Pakistan’, and advised them against hitting ‘fours and sixes’.
“I speak with caution, I do not hit fours and sixes; I've come out of that age. There are others who have also grown out of that age, but they are still hitting sixes and fours. And then they are caught out at the boundary. Their sixes can not even clear the boundary,” said the prime minister, apparently lashing out at cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).
He was speaking to a gathering of flood-affected people in Uch Sharif, about 75km from Bahawalpur.
Nawaz paid tribute to those political parties which he said were supporting ‘the right path’ and played ‘a positive role in parliament’.
“(But) some other politicians want to take the country back into the past. They do not want you to be in a better situation...they do not want you to be prosperous,” he said.
“All they want is Nawaz Sharif's resignation.16 million people voted for the Muslim League. And how many are demanding my resignation? 5…10? 15 thousand? 30 thousand? This is a joke on the people of Pakistan,” he remarked.
The premier said that he had come to Uch Sharif to share the grief of the flood-affected people, and vowed not to rest until they are properly rehabilitated.

I think the 5, 10 and 15 part is him counting his hair and he probably mixed that up with his speech. I've seen millions of people in IK's Jalsas shouting "Go Nawaz Go" chants. Even common people outside the Jalsas shout "Go Nawaz Go" chants whenever they get to see anyone from the current rulers. You want to know what the biggest joke is with the people of Pakistan? A person lying openly on the floor of the house, a person still lying about the number of people wanting him to go, a person lying with false promises in the election campaign, a person lying about his assets, a person lying about having the support of the masses and a person lying that he didn't come into power through rigging. I somewhat personally agree to Nawaz Sharif statement on building KP first then building "Naya Pakistan".If Imran Khan has been voted as chief minister, let him clear KP mess first, proves his credentials and then move to bigger stage. Has Imran khan being tested for his governance (Law and Order particularly) in KP before claiming throne at ISLAMABAD. I think Pakistan have waited for true leader for so long and wont mind waiting for another 3 years given Imran khan proves his credentials. If he deserves , people will elect him.

Young people are misled by lies of IK,whose role model is TQ, Sh Rashid ,Qureshi,Tareen etc. A character of hypocrisy, while boycotting NA149' supporting rep of land mafia, resigning from NA seat cosmetically,but submitting asset statements to EC to avert loss of seat, preparing London plan , refusing but later on accepting meetings with sponsors and Qadri. He will be disaster my dear countrymen ,perhaps it is our fate that after one hypocrite we will have another.

When people are ready for a real change you will see a real dharna with millions and not a concert full of paid people every night:) What I like about Nawaz Sharif is he doesnt abuse or use foul language against his opponents or spread hate to divide people, when what we need the most is to unite. Plus PTI has failed miserably in KPK so how can we trust them with the entire country. Hence my vote is for NS if he continues to perform which for now I think he is.

I heard PTI was paying 1000 per adult and 250 for every child plus free transport and food to bring people to Multan jalsa, hence same can.be assumedd for PTI jalsas in other places

@Irshad please get your facts right Nawaz Sharif has only served two earlier terms of 2 yrs each before. To the contrary the establishment has ruled us for over 30 yrs. So it is not the PMs fault, PMLn has delivered alot more in its collective short span then anyother leader. May you google projects.completwd by PMLn and other governments.

@Raheem If PTI is so confident that it wwon, why not approach the Supreme court with evidence of rigging then telling hearsay stories. The government has no authority over ECP which is an independent body, hence PTI should approach the judicary if ECP is not adhering to there request. Not the governments fault.

How can a Prime Minister of the country say such a thing? KPK is part of Pakistan and he is the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He should be saying that he will help them make Naya Pakistan. This clearly goes to show that he is PM of Punjab.

PM is right everytime Imran tries to hit a boundary he gets caught. For example using the third umpire to topple the government, but got caught when Hashmi blew the whistle. Killed innocent in Multan jalsa through gross negligence, police reforms in KPK yet KPK police is unable to secure Peshawar and night flights cancelled, poor management of kpk with 96% polio cases from naya kpk.

Very good point PM NS. KPK has only gone downhill and now breaking records internationally for lawlessness and health. And can't comment more as other Pakistanis can't even enter it for risk of their lives. But what can you expect when all PTI absent and negligence encouraged by IK.
Also IK has been talking abt rigging but has yet to back this or any of his defaming claims with any evidence.
IK should go home and also resign KPK government to have mercy on its people.

Nawaz Sharif is daily in the news for visiting the flood affectees. He seems to truly care about the poor, while Imran Khan and Bilawal Bhutto only went once for photo ops. I remember Imran khans car was.pelted with eggs and after that he never went to visit the affectees. Nor did imran khanvisit the families of those killed by rains in KPK. This only goes to show how much he cares for the masses. Keep up the good work PM

@Jawad The metrobus service helps more tgen 150k common folks commute daily comfortably at Rs. 50 fare. This is helping the masses. The road quality in Punjab is far better then other provinces, I know because I live in Sindh and frequently travel to Punhab by road, you can witness significant change as u enter punjab. 1st tgere is a high crime rate in Karachi and outside Karachi is lawlessness, but in any city of Punjab I can walk at night with my phone in hand without fear of stray bullet hitting me or phone getting snatched. PMLn is delivering and it is the reason why punjab is ahead of all otger provinces, whike PTI has failed miserably in KPK.

Police is more like a personal guard --- remember model town -- talk about safety in Punjab.
