'Indian hackers' deface LHC website

Hackers claiming to be Indians defaced the website of the Lahore High Court on Tuesday, saying they attacked the website in response to a recent statement over Kashmir by Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

“This hack comes in response to the Bilawal Bhutto's Statement about KASHMIR,” wrote the hackers, who also posted the Indian flag on the website.

“Stop giving such childish/stupid comments about KASHMIR or else you will be responsible for such High Profile Hacks,” they said.

The attack is the second such defacement of a website by Indian hackers purportedly in response to Bilawal's statements about the disputed region, in which he was reported to have said that his party would take entire Kashmir region back Pakistan.

“I will take back Kashmir, all of it, and I will not leave behind a single inch of it because, like the other provinces, it belongs to Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying.

Pakistani hackers have also taken down several Indian websites in the recent past.

The fresh string of tit-for-tat attacks by Indian and Pakistani hackers comes amidst a rise in tensions across the Line of Control (LoC) dividing the disputed Kashmir region.

At least 19 people were killed last week in days of skirmishes between the armies of the neighbouring countries.
