ISLAMABAD, Sept 3: Sui Southern Gas Pipelines Limited Managing Director Munawar Baseer on Wednesday said the absorption of over 1,200 employees was not possible and the company had gone back to the Supreme Court to apprise it of the financial implications of the process.

Talking to newsmen at the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority office, the SSGC MD said the company had absorbed over 400 persons, but was not in a position to take the remaining 800 back, as it required about Rs2 billion.

He said if the review petition was not entertained by the court, the SSGC would approach the government for funds.

The official said Rs1 billion would be required for paying salaries to the reinstated employees from the day their services were terminated. For arranging accommodation for them, another Rs1 billion was required, he said.
