QUETTA: A police vehicle patrolling an area along Mastung Road was damaged in a bomb blast on Thursday, police said.

However, no casualty was reported.

They said a police team headed by ASI Dad Mohammad was patrolling the area when a bomb went off near their vehicle.

“The police vehicle was partially damaged by the impact of the explosion,” police said.

“An improvised explosive device was planted along the road which was detonated through remote control,” Imran Qureshi, a senior officer of Sariab Police said, adding that five-to-six kilograms of explosive substance was used in the blast.

An investigation was being conducted into the matter by police and other security personnel.
