PESHAWAR: A woman and her daughter were found dead with their throats slit inside their house in Faqirabad here on Thursday.

According to police, the incident occurred here in street No III, Faqirabad No I, and the victims were identified as Hazrat Bibi, 60, and her daughter Lubna, 25. The official said that brother of Lubna, Jamil Anwar Siddiqui was an accounts officer in the accountant general office in Islamabad.

“We have informed Jamil Siddiqui and he is due to arrive soon from Islamabad,” the official said and added that the case would be registered as the complainant arrived. It was learnt that the incident took place at about 2:00pm when the women were alone in the house.

Meanwhile, a retired superintendent of police of CID Hayatabad was shot at and injured by unidentified terrorists inside his residence at phase-I on PDA Road.

A police official said that the SP had sustained bullet injuries on his head and he was taken to Hayatabad Medical Complex.

The police, meanwhile, continued the search and strike operation in different areas and arrested 43 outlaws, including 37 Afghan nationals. They also recovered one Kalashnikov, one Kalakov, one rifle and 17 pistols from their possession. Cases against the law violators have been registered at various police stations in Peshawar.
