Narrow victory for Mehboob Sports

HYDERABAD, Sept 1: Mehboob Sports registered a narrow two-wicket victory against NAC Gymkhana in the second match of Hyderabad District Inter-clubs tournament at PCB Academy Ground Raani Bagh Sunday. Players from the both sides observed one minute silence before resuming the play to commemorate the death of for international umpire Muhammed Taufique Khan, who breathed his last on Aug 25 after a prolong illness.

NAC Gymkhana managed 190 in 50 overs. Asif Kazi and Adnan Shah played sensible innings of 42 runs each while Irshad Shaikh chipped in with 38. Muhammed Shakeb and Amir Gulzar bagged three wickets each for 30 and 36 runs.

Mehboob Sports, in reply, reached the target losing eight wickets. Rashid Khan made 42 runs while Babar Ali picked up four wickets for 39.—APP
