Super hit in Pakistan, flop around the world.

We watched this movie in Bahrain with family. It is nice movie with light comedy.

@ Sunil. Well that's a message to Indian cinema, a bad actor will not attract audience even in his home town (Sonam kapoor) and vise versa (Fawad Khan) :)

Great! The film was not a hit in India, but it was a good beginning for Fawad. He got noticed.

Fawad has made a khoobsoorat debut, there is nothing significant otherwise

Sometime over publicity kills the film. People start to expect more, and the movie fails to meet the people expectation because of hype. Who ever went expected to watch the entire cast, not one of them.

@Amina...FYKI, SonamKapoor is definitely not a bad actor.If you call her a bad actor, wonder what you have to say about actors like Diz Mirza!!!

Only because of the Pakistanii actor, otherwise all Indian movies flop everywhere.

No offence against Pakistan (as their local boy made a debut in the movie) .. but the movie suck coz it has sonam kapoor.. She is so stupid and dumb ... I wish your actor made a better choice .. i wish him luck and may he do better films like ali zafar (who has already won Indian hearts)

People at Pakistan are and will watch this movie for one and only reason of Fawad Khan. Sonam has never had any super hits in her career so far and no one here is watching film to see her .

Lesson Do not ignore a 200 million market in Pakistan, just because it isn't a hit in India. I still like it though that Waar continues to set the benchmark, bodes well for Pakistani industry.

Amjad Rasheed stated, "No Pakistani film has ever made Rs10 million on a non-holiday weekday, and this is the first time this has ever happened." Fact Check -> "Khoobsurat" is NOT a Pakistani movie. It's an Indian Production/ movie.

Hats off to the Kapoors for spotting a star and allowing a flop movie to succeed in one country if not the other. But he needs to shave off his beard. People want the Zaroon look.

Is it me or Indian movies seem to be made for the dimwitted and not very artistic at all. Just acting like goofballs. With such a history, budget and culture you would think they would win many international awards, yet countries like Iran and France come out with great pics, with real stories and value. Just like Hollywood, big budget, big bang but very low intellectual stimulation.

@Sunil Why it will even be a hit when it will be a flop around the world. We are not a nation who does follow stars blindly like Indian does.

It's just a movie made to entertain people. So chill everyone and dont make it point of contention. We already have plenty of it....

Hire a Pakistani actor for a salary of 1 crore --> collect additional 30 crore Indian rupees (55 crore Pakistani rupees) from Pakistani people. --> 10 crore in taxes for the Indian government --> create at least 500 jobs in India in movie industry Anyways, commerce aside.... I love Fawad. I have watched Zindagi Gulzar Hai. And it was amazing. But Sanam Saeed is far better than him as an actor.

@Prasath I totally agree I liked her acting which was at times very realistic. But I think it was very poorly directed and the low budget for a Disney movie was shameful. Especially if you were exploring Indian market for the first time. At least put some efforts and provide the directors some room to showcase their talents. (By the way Kashaf in Zindagi Gulzar Hy was far better an actress then fawad khan if you don't believe me watch the drama.

@Ramesh Krishnan I am a Pakistani and as much a nationalist as you but hatred against others not only Indians is a disease and is not limited by borders. Solution: Time to think outside the box and stop the rat race of ranting against each other for once as neighbors appreciate the good efforts.

We watched this movie on the second day in California. The hall was full and majority was ladies hooting and whistling on Fawad khan (Boys are jealous) .Actually girls made it successful otherwise it is mediocre movie with clear and no doubt Disney technology. Good luck FK and Sonam Kapoor. they both are going good.

Its just 3 crores that also in PNR...its peanuts to any bollywood movie.

The movie is not an instant super hit in India because of the lack of big names but the movie is slowly and steadily picking up because of some good word of mouth publicity by those who have seen it. Fawad Khan has done a good job and I think that he has a good future in bollywood. He may not get the dare devil and action movies that actors like Salman Khan and John Abraham do but he will fare very well in serious roles. And I have often been reading about Pakistani actors, actresses, singers and other artists making an impression in bollywood. I think one needs to understand that North India and bulk of the Pakistani population, besides their own native language- Punjabi, Sindhi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani or Haryanvi, speak and understand Hindustani-Urdu language very well. Thats why Pakistan likes and appreciates Indian movies and Indians like and appreciate Pakistani serials. Talented Pakistani artists who get an opportunity and are willing to make the trip are across the border are bound to do well as they do not need to do anything out of the box or adapt to something very different. They simply need to be themselves and stick to their strengths. Some of the best examples- Nusrat and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam, Raeth band (coming up well as singers and music composers- listen to 3AM tracks), Ali Zafar, Nargis Fakri and the newest additions will be Humaima Malik and Fawad Khan. Have not seen Humaima Malik's movie but did see Khoobsorat with my family and sorry Pakistan but it seems Fawad will probably be staying in India a lot longer from now on

the movie is standard Bollywood. But Fawad Khan is a good actor. Never heard of him before as an Indian, but I do now.

In a lighter vein, I like to say that your great/grand father's were from India and you hate to see the current situation in Pakistan,You and all your family members would have been different, had you been in Lucknow /Hyderabad as happy as we Indians are and would have enjoyed the fruits of development and prosperity. What an irony? Some times the destiny is not in our hands..It comes out naturally. Somehow, I always felt - united we stand and divided we fall. How true it is?

Come on folks, this movie was at 46 screens and even by the most conservative estimate, would have fed atleast 460 families for a week. And draining money away – probably this movie have made someone smile a little bit, forget for a few minutes all the tamasha and horror of this world has to offer these days. A frustrated angry mind, which does not get any outlet of relaxation in form of laughter or just basic entertainment will go crazy and do only crazy things. And do we have short supply of craziness in this world already.

30 million PKR thats a 3 crore Pakistani Rupees which is a paltry amount even for a low budget Indian film

Ok,,,ok,, Fawad!! Its not all that successful in India in spite of promos at Kapil's show and multiple interviews by actors and gimmicks. However, now you have the success formula... work on it and get Pak's film industry going to better successes. Best luck. See... what happens with the cooperation in the region. Win-win for all.

Friends saw this movie, and most thought Fawad did an excellent job of acting, and Sonam was just OK. FYI, for those who don't know this fact, this movie was bankrolled by some Pakistanis along with Disney and Anil Kapoor's studio. So it was a joint venture by three different groups of investors. Another fact for all the Indians on this page: Anil Kapoors roots are from Peshawar, Pakistan and he his best friend is a Pakistani businessman per his daughter, Sonam.
