Pakistan will wipe out if new provinces not created: Altaf

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain insisting for the creation of new provinces said that Pakistan would be wiped out from the global map, if new administrative borders were not drawn.
Addressing his birthday function at MQM headquarters via video link early on Wednesday, he stressed the need for new provinces,saying that Pakistan is the only country to have a small number of provinces despites its large population.
He also demanded that local bodies elections be held.
He said that earlier nationalist parties had created a fuss when he had demanded the creation of new province and added that now he is not the only one, talking about the need for new provinces, as Tahirul Qadri was also demanding new provinces not. Similarly, Imran Khan has also raised his voice for local bodies systems.
Altaf Hussain urged his supporters to be geared up to support their spiritual father as what he is going to do is a hard job. He added that he would bring honest people in the coordination committee and all ranks of the party.
The MQM chief asked Sindhis and Mohajirs to avoid confrontation and spread the message of love and peace.
In his speech, Hussain also addressed armed forces and told them that their responsibility is to safeguard geographical borders of the country, while civilians govern the state. “However when even top judges were accused of poll rigging than army should be prepared to support the nation,” he added.
Hussain further said that he wanted to inform the armed forces that Turkey's “Atta Turk” was also a soldier, those who brought a revolution in the United States of America also hailed from forces, Fidel Castro of Cuba was also from army whereas French revolution was also brought by a soldier.”
The ceremony was culminated on the revival of party workers oath of loyalty with their patron in chief Altaf Hussain.

As a Sindhi I am just tired of this mad man. Sindh will always stay within its historical boundaries, any one who has the illusion to do otherwise will be taken care of. Time has come for all Sindhis, wherever they are to stand united and safeguard the motherland. Long live SINDH.

INsha Allh Pakistan will stay as it is. Any one trying to disintegrate the country will perish. There is money laundering case pending against him in England, I don't think he will be able to avoid jail time.

More administrative provinces are needed. We have only 4 provinces for ~190 million population. Rich, political, tribal and feudal landlord families keep Pakistanis enslaved and backwards. Time is right!

I am a sindhi too. But I would like to say the People of Sindh should understand the realities of good governance in modern times. The so called nationalist leaders have been mis-leading them on creation of new provinces. It is going to be better for both the new and old sindhis to have more than one province in the existing sindh. This is going to happen sooner or later. The old mindset with tribal thinking can not stop it from materialising so why delay it?

@fida sayani I totally agree with you. This man do nothing but deliver speeches all day on different subject--good or bad, to prove that he is a relevant person and should be discussed. The media blindly and faithfully publish every junk staement like this is their paramount duty to inform us. The other day he resigned but then took back resignation. In democratic countries, people do resign or retired. Nothing wrong with that. Believe me I live in a foreign country, we both (my spouse inclusive) have well paying jobs but still live very tight and lives slightly above water. This man, no one know, what is his means of livelihood in a foreign country, where taxes are very high, the utilities bills, food are very expensive. If you are not working, they becomes unbearable. He scatters himself on a large sofa and delivers speeches and has a faithful followers who listens to him non stop based on their ethnic and linguistic loyalties and common patern of migration to this new country, sometime we call Pakistan.

KP ( formerly NWFP ) was created by Lord Curzon in 1901; before that it was part of Punjab and Sindh was separated from the Bombay Presidency in 1935. Creation of new provinces could prove beneficial insofar as smaller units are easier to manage.

Divide Pakistan into new provinces because we can't live together, what's going to be next, divide those new provinces because Sunni's can't live with Shia's, light skin Pakistani's can't live with dark skin Pakistani's. Pakistan was built for the larger muslim majority and that should be it!, we are already too divided, no more.

What has sindh administration done for sindh itself having one of the most rich people as its stake holders? Why is there no education, development and infrastructure in sindh??
Better to work for sindh than just praising it in the same of traditional way that most of our public find happiness in..things will not change by these slogans unless you accept the realities and people who can provide solution.

Altaf Hussein speaks often about the break up of Pakistan very casually. He now says that Pakistan will be wiped off from the global map. How can this even be legal? This is not democracy or free speech. This is treason. Is there no mechanism to control this man? I am from India but I feel this is nothing but "Gaddari". Mir Jafar is still alive.

Distribution of power from the corrupts and transferring to the poor does not mean disintegration of Pakistan. I think time has come that equal distribution of power be transferred to the people in the forms of small provinces otherwise these corrupt leaders will destroy the whole country.

Demand for smaller administrative units (provinces) in Pakistan is need of the hour. Pakistan a country thickly populated with repeated administrative failures, is a fit case for smaller provinces at least 20 to 22 in number. It will obviate the possibility of breaking away of the bigger units from the federation and it will also help the governors to give more attention to the small areas of their jurisdiction with reference to social development and infrastructure.

Altaf Hussain has lived out side of Pakistan for too long , more than 20 years, he no longer has any emotional attachment to our motherland, he even has taken a new nationality, that is why he uses words like " break up" and wipe out" in such casual manner about Pakistan , ask the people who live in Pakistan , face the daily struggles and dangers and still pray for the unity and solidarity of their country. Altaf Hussain is nothing but an arm chair politician, who is feeling neglected at this time.

Its not new people giving these prediction or guessing about the future of Pakistan for example
- disintegration yet again like 1971
- wipe out from map
- Its a sinking ship etc
Why because they see some wrong in the current system and the way this country is being governed
- there is no law to punish you if you are rich and powerful
- its a heaven for thugs
- hundreds of other problems prevails
I thinks its time we should seriously listen to those suggestions to avoid another 1971 like tragedy.

What is wrong with our people, dividing large provinces into smaller administrative units does not mean separating parts of Sindh from it and taking them somewhere else. Why are we so insecure.
Our leaders who use the procial card have fooled us. India has divided many provinces into smaller units but now one has a problem as they are still ext to each other and it is still one India.
We are really ridiculous....

Let us talk about the creation of new provinces at a later day. First I would like Mr. Hussain to identify the dishonest members of his party and punish them accordingly. We need to know who are the dishonest members and the amount of the wealth they have accumulated. It must be returned to Pakistan.

There is big difference the way you want to create a new province for Pakistani born urdu speaking ( you still label them mahajir) then the way Imran has talked about province. Imran idea of creating province is not based on any particular language or race it is based on merit

When will Sindhi people realize that it is time that they stop being so stubborn about the division of Sindh. It is hurting Pakistan and Sindh to stick to this position. There should be several provinces, Karachi should be one, Hyderabad and surrounding are should be other and so onc. This will promote competition and participation, people of each locality will have their own representative accountable to their own constituency and will be force to do something for them. Sindhi politician want the clout of representing the whole Sindh and play a bigger role in the national politics totally ignoring people in their constituency in rural Sindh and open contempt for the people in city.
Sindh has produced at least four prime ministers, but give me one example what they got out of them? Larkana is as backward as it was when Sir Bhutto (Zulfiqar ali Bhutto's father, who got rewarded for his services to British...not his people!).

100 percent agree with Altaf Hussein. Its not a division of Pakistan. Even if we nake new provinces. The provinces will still be part of Pakistan. Look around you every country created new provinces to improve adminiatrative efficiency.

It's only a matter of time when Sindh will be divided along with other provinces in Pakistan. It's not possible for other provinces to be divided and not Sindh, and I think the Pakistan army has already decided this. But I would appreciate it if Altaf Hussain emphasizes the division of Punjab also.

It was not enough that these lords are ruling us with an iron fist. They have unthinkable amount of money weapons. These thugs have their territories where they operate .Now they want to make these borders official a create mini states where they will have more control over resources and people. They will have official designations and create their own law to better cover their illegal activities. I am not sure when this will end. When will we wakeup and realize how we are being fooled and looted by these thugs.
