QUETTA: Inspector General of Frontier Corps Balochistan Maj Gen Mohammad Ejaz Shahid said on Tuesday that the paramilitary force was ready to extend all cooperation to police and other law-enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order in the province.

Presiding over a security conference here, he said the FC would fulfil its responsibilities for improving security situation in Balochistan.

Senior officers of FC, district administration and police attended the security conference and discussed the situation in Zhob division. They also discussed the possible fallout in Balochistan of Zarb-i-Azb operation being carried out by the army in North Waziristan.

Senior security officials briefed the conference about the law and order situation in different areas of the province. The participants were informed that security along the border with Afghanistan and the province’s areas near Waziristan had been tightened to keep an eye on the movement of militants.

Maj Gen Shahid stressed the need for cooperation and exchange of information between different security agencies.

He said the FC would continue to play its role for the improvement of security situation in the province. He called upon people from all segments of the society to suggest measures for making Balochistan a peaceful place.
