SARGODHA, Aug 31: Executive District Officer (Literacy Development) Saeed Ahmed Khan has been suspended and an inquiry ordered against him on charges of misusing and misappropriating the Asian Development Bank funds for promotion of literacy.

The EDO allegedly embezzled over half a million rupees under different heads in collaboration with the subordinate staff, sources said. The chief minister reportedly took serious notice of the matter and directed the chief secretary to take stern action against the EDO.
