CHAKWAL: Security agencies detained two suspected militants and recovered weapons and Jihadi literature from their possession during a raid on a mosque in Talagang on Tuesday morning.

Sources told Dawn that heavy contingent of security forces raided the mosque in Rahimabad locality near Malakwal village at about 5am.

During the operation, 12 people were picked up for questioning but 10 of them were released as they were Afghan nationals and possessed valid refugee cards. The remaining two persons, identified as Khadim Hussain, a resident of Gujranwala, and Mohammad Moazam of Bahawalnagar, were detained by security agencies and shifted to an unknown place for interrogation.

The sources said 13 guns, 10 SMGs, 19 pistols and 42 bullets were recovered from the suspects.
