What Parliament is doing protecting parliamentarians with the constitution? Sadly not a hint from parliamentarian that they want full enforcement of the constitution for everyone but I heard they wanted to have a protection from constitution for the governing elite. What ever proposal Mr. Khan wants to implement - must be approved by all the opposition parties - than only can ask the ruling party to implement - If Mr. Khan wants to dictate his own terms - does not carry weight - PTI is just one opposition party . Even if opposition parties does not agree with Mr. Khan, how he expect the ruling party to adhere to his demands. Mr. Khan has a uphill battle - after reading in the newspaper - what Mr. Khan consider rigging - than never ever be any single polling station or constituents can be considered fair and free. It is better Mr. Khan become reasonable and talk sense instead of nonsense. If tomorrow new elections held in KP - and Mr. Khan wins - than those opponents will be on the street and challenge Khan - because the definition of rigging is broad - PTI must think in long term and in terms of country .. No party will be in power or in opposition forever - than these laws will going to come and haunt the winner and losers.

Negotiations would not solve anything until whole system of people's representation and governance is changed...in last general election only 15% of the population voted (including fake votes or rigging)...and out of this the party which supposedly secured about 7.5% votes came to power...means the current assembly is certainly not the proper representative of the will of 200 million Pakistanis...and neither one the ones before it...

Dear All Today in the National Assembly session nothing was discussed about flood management. There were only two agendas. How to retain the chairs. The only solution for this chronic ailment is that all residents of Pakistan should take theses people out by their collars. All asserts of all politicians should be instantly seized. Prominent Teacher & Proud Student. Senator Barrister Ch Aitzaz Ahsan today stole the show for second time while addressing the joint session of parliament wherein he pounced on Ch Nisar, Interior Minister and refuted all the allegations the minister had hurled against him. Aitzaz has taught me Law at Punjab University Law College, Lahore during 1966-69 session. As a matter of fact my teacher had been too explosive and had very truly torn apart Nisar but PM Nawaz could sense it and therefore he has really proved quite prudent to stand up and tender his unconditional apology to cool down my teacher.

Nisar was clearly assigned the task of tainting 'Mr. I Can Do No Wrong'. Mission accomplished.

The nexus of big business and politics is a world wide problem. Kudos to Nisar for not letting 'Mr. Self Righteous Ahsan' get away with it.

Later he selected Mr. Mamoon as the president of Pakistan. Following his foot steps Mr. Najm Sethi helped Mr. Shaharyar Khan, who is also over 80+. All these three people may be honest and efficient in their prime but they are not effective anymore. President Reagan once said about his style of governance. 'I appoint the best man for the job and don't interfere," Are you doing the same Mr. Nawaz Shareef the honorable PM of Pakistan.

What a disgraceful opposition we have. In any other country in the world, the opposition would have jumped at the opportunity to shorten the reign of these corrupt people. As Imran + Qadri have said that we will shower rose petals on the President and personally I think this is the best possible opportune for PM Nawaz to cash and instead of hiding the program of the guest he should tell Imran + Qadri which day and time Chinese President will pass through the area where their supporters are camping. Before I go to the logistics so involved therein I must pronounce in quite crystal clear terms without slightest shadow of any doubt that Imran + Qadri are opposing PM Nawaz and they are as patriotic Pakistanis as PM Nawaz himself. Imran dharna is quite live, amusing, heartening and exciting which some also say it is more like holiday picnic than an opposition dharna. I bet on my life that if my suggestion is accepted and Imran + Qadri are given green signal to go ahead to welcome Chinese President then they will address their supporters to temporarily forget about opposing PM Nawaz and instead embark upon welcoming Chinese VVIP which I guess shall even dilute the hostility and heat already generated at dharna. Both leaders will then tell their supporters to clean the whole area of garbage and trash etc, be nicely dressed up, line up quite orderly on both sides of the road, hang Chinese President photos all over the route, hold Chinese flag in right hand and Pakistani flag in left hand, play Chinese songs and tunes and shower scented rose petals on the visitors as and when they pass through the area. Even Chinese President had never ever had such warm and hearty welcome what these protestors can do which as such will be appreciated by Chinese too. Imran + Qadri can be asked to sign an undertaking on oath that they and their supporters will not create any bitterness or awkward situation on such auspicious occasion and in case of any breach on his part he shall be held accountable. The Interior Minister's behaviour in today's Parliament session demonstrates that they did not learn any lesson. Their intransigence and personal score settling attitude will drown them. Instead of resolving the issues, they are further adding the fuel to fire.

This parliament is not about democracy and people. This is mafia system where personal interests are served and egos laid bare. Problems facing people are rarely discussed. Where's the resolution condemning model town massacre and sympathy with the victims?

It is just a form of blaming the victim, rather like telling women to not report being raped by their relatives, on the grounds that doing so will cause humiliation to their family. If humiliation has been caused to Pakistan internationally, the blame should be directed to all those who created and perpetuated the deep-rooted culture of corruption; it is the existence of this deep-rooted culture of corruption that makes protests like this necessary in the first place. Let's first make sure we are worthy of the respect of others, by addressing the issues raised by these protests, and gving people the rights promised to them in the Constitution! After that, we can worry about whether or not we are being humiliated "Internationally".

Politicians need to avoid all semblance of corruption. Aitzaz's comment that his wife does LPG business hurts him.

All the parlimentarian should know the definition of democracy: "Government of the People, by the People, for the People". Well how then this so called "Democratic Government" lead the killing of 14 people including women and wounding of around 90 people in model town incident? This can only happen in a government of "Thugs" and "Farohs". Everyone needs to analyze the events in a fair manner.

They pretend to defend parliament in disguise of so called democracy. They invested huge funds to multiply these while under the umbralla of the corrupt system. They are uall united against the1600 Millions people who did not vote them to further loot the national wealth and sources and take it abroad in Swiss Banks.

It would be best for the country and even PML-NS to start the reforms that the protestors were demanding. If NS is sincere, then he should not waste time in other gimmicks. Another suggestion would be to include competent people in his cabinet ... Otherwise, this drama can be repeated.

It was expected that members of parliament would discuss why people are protesting in Islamabad and put their list of demands through voting process to pass the bill for follow-ups. Instead ruling party as well as opposition leaders first both critized protesters, than started pointing fingers at each others shortcomings. This is unforfunate scenario when tax payers are paying for these member of parliament to see them squabling on petty issues, failing to discuss and solve nations problems. Just too many egotistical self serving politicians. If they really wanted, they could have discussed protest demand & conclude it in 12 hours. Furthermore, all MP's could get back to their constituencies roll up their sleeves to help out in current rain & flood devastation. That would have called real democracy. Not sitting on their rear like a baboo saheb.

Unfortunately, these protesters kep the whole country development and activities in limbo and didn't spare even the judiciary and its chiefs in the diatribe. Unfortunate that there is no civic sense left in the fight by IK or Qadri. Needed to enforce law and treat them nicely behind bars.

Why the most controversial party in Pakistan has created controversies about the visit of Chinese President?? Imran Khan was found claiming in his comfy container that there was no plan of Chinese President to visit Pakistan! Then Imran Khan and his mureeds started raising doubts about Chinese investments by calling them as "loans at 7%". The government should now put Imran Khan under arrest to make the visit undisputed.

Democracy is a journey not a destination. It is a slow winding uphill walk rather than a mad dash by a mob. It takes generations to implement reforms and create a better government. Street agitation, destruction of private and public property never leads a nation towards democracy. Learn from history and other nations before it is too late.

Now that the negotiations have begun, all will see how serious the govt is in resolving the issue. Even the govt's negotiating party consists of fin min (who is supposed to be a non-political person and a technocrat) and a Musharraf stooge. Rest of the ministers are mostly involved in stage drama like point scoring; no one takes them seriously any more. The deeper we get into it, more non-serious attitude of the govt will be seen; but for them it should be clear that the protesters cannot be simply wished away. Imran Khan has already won. Last time NS remained in Islamabad (which is supposed to be his office and official residence) for this long was probably when he was 10 years old. Lage Raho Imran Khan! we are with you.
