KARACHI: Afghanistan’s coach resigned on Tuesday, saying the job was putting too much strain on his family, dealing the side a major blow in its preparations for 2015 World Cup.
“I have resigned from coach’s post,” Kabir said. “The reason is that my family was suffering from my being away on tours, I was not enjoying.”
Kabir denied his resignation would hurt Afghanistan. “Qualifying for the World Cup was more important than playing it so I don’t think my not being there will affect performance.”
