British politician George Galloway was taken to hospital on Saturday for treatment to a broken jaw after he was attacked in London, The Telegraph quoted his spokesman as saying.
Galloway, who has reportedly suffered a suspected broken rib and severe bruising to his face, was taking pictures with some people in Golborne Road, Notting Hill, West London when a man yelled a comment about the Holocaust and then assaulted him, according to the spokesman.
His spokesman said: "George was posing for pictures with people and this guy just attacked him, leapt on him and started punching him.
"It appears to be connected with his comments about Israel because the guy was shouting about the Holocaust."
Police quickly reached the site of attack and arrested the culprit — who was later taken to the South London police station.
Galloway was shifted to St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, where he will be staying overnight. The maverick politician described himself as being “in a pretty bad shape”.
The spokesman was unaware as to whether the attackers was an Israeli, an English Defence League-supporter or had some other motive for launching an attack on Galloway.

Clearly if this person is identified as being Israeli, they will never be identified as a terrorist, whereas had a Pakistani man assaulted a Jewish member of Parliament, he would have been in Jail and a massive campaign against Muslims would have started. Western hypocrisy at its best. Why doesn't Dawn make more of this?

Mr. Galloway, you are a great man and a voice for the voiceless. May Allah keep you safe and give you long life and health. This should be front line news in Pakistan at least for he holds a Nishan e Pakistan. Our foreign office should condemn this cowardly act in the strongest possible way. I don't care if this man was a alien from outer space. He saw Gorgeous George and just lost it. I don't condone this sort of violence, of course, but you have to ask yourself why Galloway inspires so much violent hatred. Could it be because he cynically uses the adherents to the world's more primitive faith systems to further his own political ends and is happy to divide religious divisions yet further, to stir up the passions of the already irrational and volatile masses? From Inverness to Islamabad he pokes the hornets' nest of intolerance. Are we really surprised someone takes a poke at him?

@Haroon Mahmood Despite free medical care, free housing, free money ( even Anjum Choudhary lives on dole), uninterrupted running water and electricity, freedom of expression, overall a wonderful life style than they would get in Pakistan, Pakistani Muslims are very unhappy in the UK because they can do better in Pakistan or some other Muslim country. Therefore all Pakistanis must return to Pakistan.
