LAHORE: The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) registered a criminal case on Friday against the owner of a marriage hall in Mughalpura for allegedly de-sealing it without permission from the authority concerned.

The Shalimar Town Municipal Administration, in an application with the Mughalpura Police Station, alleged that one Sohail Babar had illegally constructed ‘Bismillah Shadi Hall’ on 3-Vetman Road. As no approval was sought from the CDGL before construction of the marriage hall, the TMA management had sealed it. Later the owners of the marriage hall moved the Lahore High Court against the decision of the TMA but their petitions were dismissed.

Despite losing their case, Sohail and his accomplice Mahmoodul Hassan de-sealed the marriage hall, the TMA claimed. The police have lodged a case.
