RAWALPINDI: A staff member of Adiala Jail was dismissed from service after he was found involved in supplying drugs and cellphones to prisoners, sources said on Friday.
Malik Mushtaq Ahmed, superintendent jail, launched an inquiry after he received complaints that Mudassar Ehsan, the jail warden, was providing narcotics and mobile phones to the prisoners.
The authorities concerned claimed that they had taken various steps to improve security in jails, and eliminate corruption and check drug supply and cellphones by the jail security staff.
After the inquiry found the accused guilty, he was dismissed from service.
