Waterway breached

SANGHAR, July 23: A 30-foot wide breach occurred in the Shahpur Chakar Minor between RD-40 and 41 near the Tawakalpur village on Wednesday.

No irrigation official reached the spot to plug the breach. However, the villagers have started plugging the breach on their own.

No loss of property or crops was reported as the land near the site of the breach are barren.

SUICIDES: Two women committed suicide in two separate incidents in different parts of the district on Tuesday.

Utmi Kolhi took pesticide to end her life in the Khahi village.

In another incident, Pato Kolhi committed suicide by taking pesticide in the Mir Mohammad Mallah village.

The cause of suicide in both the cases was stated to be poverty.
