THATTA, July 23: The representatives of cross section of society have criticised the establishment of the Mirpur Bathoro police station in a school building.

Those opposing the occupation of the school building, included MQM MPA Heer Soho, district council member Ayesha Soho, academic Ghulam Hussain Rangrez, PPP leader Aijaz Ali Khwaja, Mirpur Bathoro UC Nazim Mohammad Ali Khwaja, Shehar Sudhar Committee and parents academic association leaders.

They said shifting of the police station from its old building to the academic block of former elementary college, now in possession of the higher secondary school administration, would effect routine academic activities.

The school principal in his letter to the EDO (education) said the Mirpur Bathoro police broke open the doors of the building during the summer vacation and established the police station.

It was laying vacant since the college had been shifted to Thatta some four months back. As the building was constructed on the plot of the higher secondary school, therefore, the college administration handed it over to school administration.

The principal said we were considering to enrol more students and improve class arrangements as due to the small space, the students were compelled to sit in the open yard.
