MUZAFFARGARH: Police on Thursday registered a case against an agro company official and two shopkeepers for selling fake fertiliser at Shah Jamal.
A team led by the deputy district officer (agriculture) raided a fertiliser outlet on Mondka Road and found Iftikhar and Abbas dealing in fake urea and DAP. He asked them to show invoice of dealership and record of purchase but they failed to do so.
The official sent the component of urea to laboratory which declared it fake.
The Khangarh police also registered a case against agro service company Regional Manager Tanvir Ali.
The district coordination officer told this correspondent that he had sent a team to check fertiliser shops on complaints.
Meanwhile, scores of farmers gathered there and protested against the company and dealers of fake fertiliser.
