KARACHI, July 22: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has asked all intending Haj pilgrims to submit their data at the earliest so that their computerized national identity cards could be issued in line with the new Haj policy approved by the federal cabinet.

The intending Haj pilgrims, who are not possessing computerized cards, have been asked to contact 125 NADRA’s Swift Registration Centres (NSRC) across the country.

On showing the receipt of their Haj applications they will be taken out of the queue and processed on priority. On payment of Rs60 as fee, their normal applications will be treated as urgent applications.

The authority has asked the Haj pilgrims to get their cards made through these Swift Centres only to avoid any errors.

According to the new policy on Haj, all those intending to perform Haj will have to travel on special Haj passports, valid for one pilgrimage, which will be issued only to those in possession of computerized cards issued by the NADRA.

The NADRA said that issuing computerized cards to Hajis would be a regular feature, as the authority has capacity of issuing over 100,000 cards per day. As soon as the data is submitted production and verification process will be undertaken on urgent basis for Haj applicants and their computerized cards will be issued in shortest possible time.—APP
