LAHORE: The PPP has condemned attack on the PTI convoy in Gujranwala.

“It is not difficult to identify the culprits because all TV channels showed them hurling stones at the truck in which Imran Khan was travelling and also at the buses and cars,” PPP Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo said here on Friday.

He said the culprits should be given an exemplary punishment.

Mr Wattoo said the politics of violence was both condemnable and contemptible and should not be resorted to due to its devastating consequences for politics.

He urged the government to honour its commitment of ensuring peace and security because it was its responsibility to provide security to the peaceful procession of the PTI. He said the failure to provide security would not absolve the government of its responsibility on any pretext.

MNA: PML-N Lahore president and MNA Pervaiz Malik says the people chanting slogans of Inqilab and Azadi march are not well-wishers of the country as they have no concerns about the losses incurred to the trade and industry sectors because of the political instability in the country.

He told a delegation of businessmen here on Friday both the prime minister and the chief minister were ready to visit Imran Khan in the larger interest of the country but Mr Khan joined hands with Dr Tahirul Qadri for marches.

The delegation apprised him of the heavy losses the trade and industry were facing due to marches.

Mr Malik alleged both Mr Khan and Mr Qadri were attempting to undermine the democratic system.

JuD: Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) emir Hafiz Saeed has called upon politicians to set aside their political differences and get united to raise voice against Israeli aggression in Gaza.

Speaking at Jamia Al-Qudsia here on Friday, he wished that politicians of all shades should get united to protect the innocent people of Palestine.

He announced that besides holding protests in all major cities, the JuD would stage a protest rally titled “Palestine Unity Caravan” in Lahore on Sunday (tomorrow) from Nasser Bagh up to Regal Chowk to press the Muslim community to break silence on the Palestine issue.

He wished that there should be a Muslim Union on the pattern of the European Union to protect the Muslims of the world from the aggression of Christians and Jews.
