UC Nazim unseated

CHITRAL, July 21: Nazim of the union council Chitral-I Subhanuddin was unseated on Monday through a no-confidence motion.

Of the 19 council members, 14 voted in favour of the motion, with four voting against it while one of the members abstained.

The resolution had accused the Nazim of ignoring the council members’s demands while concentrating on development schemes and other issues.

In a notification issued after the passing of the resolution, the district coordination officer said that the acting Nazim would be elected in the next meeting of the council.

The next council meeting is scheduled to be held during the current week.

SUICIDE: A man, Ahmed Khan, committed suicide by shooting himself in Oveer village in the upper Chitral.He had used an automatic weapon to shoot himself.

He was rushed to the hospital but could not survive.

In another incident, an elderly man, Purdum Khan, died after being h it by a motorcycle.
