KARACHI: Senior lawyer Syed Mubarak Raza Kazmi, son-in-law of well-known zakir Allama Talib Johari, was shot dead in a suspected sectarian attack in Karachi’s Gulshan-i-Iqbal area on Wednesday.

The lawyers’ community in the city announced a plan for protests on Thursday against the cold-blooded murder.

In Azizabad, a Shia woman was killed and her husband was wounded in an attack on their car.

Condemning the frequent killing of members of the Shia community, the Majlis-i-Wahdat-i-Muslimeen called upon the government to extend the ongoing Operation Zarb-i-Azb against militants in North Waziristan to Karachi.
