Nawaz meets Saudi leaders to discuss bilateral ties

JEDDAH: Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Crown Prince, Advisor and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on late Tuesday night.

During the meeting, the prime minister expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended to him during his private visit to Saudi Arabia, said a press release.

Sharif is traveling along with 12 members of his family.

Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, who also holds the portfolio of Second Deputy Premier, said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were brotherly counties and their relations were deep.

He said Saudi Arabia was second home for every Pakistani.

Both leaders also discussed bilateral and regional issues and expressed satisfaction on steps taken to further strengthen bilateral relations.

The prime minister was accompanied in the meeting by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Hussain Nawaz.

Earlier on Monday the prime minister had met Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Saudi deputy premier and minister of defense.

During that meeting Crown Prince Salman expressed hoped that the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would be even more stronger than before.

During the meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told Crown Prince Salman that Saudi Arabia is playing a unique and irreplaceable role in the Muslim World.
