KARACHI: Aahil Shah, a highly talented table tennis player from Karachi, left here for Shanghai on Monday to attend a four-week Summer School at the University of Sports.

Another upcoming player Absar Ali, who hails from Peshawar, is due to fly to Shanghai on Wednesday due to delay in securing Chinese visa.

The Summer School is being organised by Table Tennis College that is part of the recently established university by the Chinese government, Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) president, S. M. Sibtain, said on Tuesday.

Ping pong players from across the world are expected to attend the Summer School to improve their skills under Chinese experts who are considered world powerhouse in the game.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan enjoy cordial relationship with China and has frequently sent its players there in the past for grooming.

In addition, the Chinese coaches have also visited Pakistan on long term coaching assignments which yielded fruitful results.
