Relief goods sent for IDPs

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army’s 10 Corps on Monday dispatched 32 trucks of relief goods for internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency.

It was the second consignment containing flour, rice, ghee, sugar, powdered milk, dates, pulses, water coolers, clothes, crockery, biscuits, candies and juices weighing 220 tons. Besides an amount of Rs7 million is being sent for distribution among the IDPs.

Commander 10 Corps Brigadier Saeed Ahmad saw off 22 and 10 trucks to relief camps in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, respectively. Senior army officers were present at the ceremony held at the Race Course ground.

Earlier, Brigadier Saeed was briefed about the donations collected and being distributed in Bannu and D.I. Khan relief camps.

The Army has set up relief camps in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to collect donations for the IDPs.
