KHOST, July 18: Eight Afghan soldiers were killed on Friday in an attack by suspected members of the ousted Taliban regime in Khost, a military official said.
The soldiers were travelling in a four-wheel-drive vehicle near a market when they came under attack, Commander Sattar, the deputy head of the provincial border force, told Reuters.
Two men driving in another car overtook the soldiers’ vehicle and then attacked it, he said.
At the scene of the attack, witnesses saw a burnt-out vehicle and three bodies charred beyond recognition.—Reuters
