The much-awaited trailer for Disney’s Khoobsurat is out, and we can’t decide who is looking more gorgeous; Sonam Kapoor as the kooky, spunky physiotherapist or Fawad Khan as the dashing, dapper prince.

Sonam plays a happy-go-lucky physiotherapist.
Sonam plays a happy-go-lucky physiotherapist.

Sonam plays a self-obsessed, selfie-happy doctor with a quirky style statement; brightly coloured scarves paired with neon tees and fluorescent jackets seen in the trailer seem to go with her character’s bubbly and vivacious personality. We especially love the inclusion of mixed prints and detail of stacked bracelets and graphic Adidas sneakers – kudos to stylist Karuna Laungani, also ex-editor for Elle India, for piecing it altogether.

A standout look is Sonam in a purple bikini top with a printed wrap-around skirt (right before she pushes Fawad into the pool). On the downside, the brief glimpse of Sonam busting a move was disappointing - to say the least.

Fawad looks so handsome in the kurta pajama and waistcoat ensemble.
Fawad looks so handsome in the kurta pajama and waistcoat ensemble.

Fawad appears somber and composed in his cool kurtas and crisp pajamas, looking every bit the prince his role commands him to be. We must mention here how outstanding Fawad looks in the smartly tailored dark waistcoats over short Indian kurtas. Clearly we are crushing on him. Tribute also must be paid to that fine head of hair he has, that is seen perpetually gelled back in the few glimpses we have of him from the trailer.

It is no wonder then, that the physiotherapist says to the prince, “Tumhe dekh ke gande gande khayal aa rahe hain [Looking at you makes me thing bad thoughts].”

The story-line appears simple; pretty, cheerful young girl visits the palatial, strictly run home of a handsome prince. She appears dismissive at first but somewhere during the time when they take a drive in his open top car or perhaps when he is teaching her how to shoot a rifle, love blooms. And the rest we’ll deduce when we watch the film on September 19! We must say, however, that in the few shots we've seen of the duo together, the chemistry is electric.

For now, enjoy the official trailer.
