LAHORE, July 18: Three people were killed in different parts of the city on Friday.
Younus told police that his 12-year-old son Nawaz was on his way to a tuition centre when two rival groups traded fire at Sheller Chowk in Harbanspura.
The boy sustained bullet injuries. The men from the two groups escaped. The injured boy was taken to hospital where he died.
A murder case was registered against members of two rival parties —- Badsha Butt group and Shahzad Butt group —- with no arrest. The body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy.
A heroin addict was stabbed to death allegedly by a barber at Lorry Adda over a money dispute.
Police said Bhora, 30, had reportedly borrowed Rs2,000 from hairdresser Nadeem Ahmad. Both quarrelled over the dispute and the barber allegedly stabbed the addict.
Nadeem was caught by shopkeepers and handed over to the police. He told the police that he did not stab the addict. He said the barber snatched a scissors from him and stabbed himself when he demanded money from him.
The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. A case was registered.
A man was shot dead by a rival group over a dispute involving extortion in Raiwind City.
Police said councillor Rana Arshad and his men had a dispute with the Ghulam Sabir group over a wagon-stand. The two parties exchanged fire and Sabir got serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he died.
A case was registered with no arrest. The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy.
