MUMBAI: Veteran Bollywood actor and Dabangg franchise star Salman Khan recently landed in a tussle with photographers at a promotional event of his much-hyped upcoming film Kick.

According to a report published in Hindustan Times: during the unveiling of Kick's latest song, photographers asked Salman to pose at a particular spot, which the veteran actor refused to do.

Salman's refusal resulted in a face-off between photographers and the actor's security guards that held up the event for at least half an hour. Photographers later announced for a complete boycott of Salman Khan's coverage.

Salman was pleased with the protest for his boycott and applauded the photographer's decision on Twitter.

The backlash that followed the incident saw other actors lining up with Salman, while the photographers' associations stood strong in support for their members, encouraging them not to capture the veteran actor at promotional or casual events.

Other actors such as Kangana Raunaut also shared her experiences with photographers and advised them to behave like gentlemen.

Salman's father also came in defense of his son. “I’ve never defended my children before. But I feel that the photographers should maintain decorum. Ask the celebrity to stand, and he will comply. It’s an honour for us to be clicked. But, [photographers] are always pushing, running ahead of the actor, jumping onto cars. That creates nuisance,” Hindustan Times quoted Salim Khan as saying.
