KASUR: Pattoki police arrested four people on Friday for extortion collection from bus owners at the Pattoki bus terminal.

Police said they received complaints the extortionists had made an illegal van stand at Halla Chowk and charged bus owners protection money.

The arrested suspects include Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Sharif, Rasheed Masih, and Dilawar Maan.

INJURED: A police constable suffered injuries in an encounter between police and alleged drug pushers on Friday in Kaveen Malian in the Phoolnagar Sadar police jurisdiction.

After a tip off, a police team, headed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Shafiq, raided the house of Imtiaz Ahmed, arrested him and seized five kilo charas from him.

When the police were leaving the house, the relatives of Imtiaz, including Aslam and Riaz, manhandled the police officials, and tried to get Imtiaz released. They also opened fire at police and injured Constable Javed Ashraf. They got Imtiaz released and escaped.

Police entered a case.
