ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday provided a copy of the nomination form of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to Arsalan Iftikhar, son of the former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
A source in the ECP told Dawn that the document was given to a representative personally nominated by Arsalan Iftikhar.
In an written application to the ECP secretary, Arsalan had requested that he be given a copy of the PTI chief's nomination form which the latter had filed when contesting elections for the National Assembly last year.
After examining the nomination form, Arsalan may decide on his future course of action by filing a reference against Imran with the ECP, ultimately seeking his disqualification.

Arsalan intends to seek proceedings for Khan's disqualification from the National Assembly allegedly for concealing facts about certain aspects of his personal life in the nomination form.
The form, already described as a public document by an ECP official, had been placed on the commission’s website to ensure transparency and invite objections to provision of false information or concealment of facts.

@Ahmed It was dismissed on a plea that under article 62 the qualifications can only be judged at the time of scrutiny of nomination papers not afterwards. Hence merit of the case was never touch upon. However under article 63 the same may be maintainable.

Arsalan Iftikhar had a case against him. What happened to that?. Looks like PMLN has no shame in coming out and supporting the son of our respected CJ. It also shows that Arsalan's father worked for PMLN and is getting the payback from his masters for a job well done. Aso, it is clear who ECP works for?. There were never famous for being effecient. A lot of people, who are average citizens of Pakistan can clearly see what is ahead of us in terms of the politics and politicians but PMLN seems to be still celebrating their win in the elections not knowing that it can all disappear in a day and may be it should as the government has done nothing for the average Pakistani. Me, myself and I is the name of the game for PMLN.

What do you think, isn't ECP is a party against Imran? On the instructions of Old Guard, ECP will disqualify Imran, this is my guess and Iftikhar Chaudhry is behind all this mess.

According to Shariah fathering a child is a most sinful act, if the contributors of this forum can honestly that Imran Khan has done no wrong then they are implying that Imran is above Shariah law. Arslan was attacked by Imran Khan what do people expect him to do? Musharraf was barred in taking part in the election under Article 62 and 63, I say PMLN and PTI leaders should also be barred, and preparation should start now before the mid-term or main election.

whats wrong with these politicians are the people who are slinging mud at Imran Khan are they whiter then white themselves this is pakistan and its dirty politics you will not see this drams anywhere else, they are just trying to get away from the real issues the country is on its knees Taliban are killing innocent people no food, price hikes, no electricity no jobs and many other problems and these people are having a slanging match over why Imran Khan did not mention his daughter, so what does that make him a bad politician or a lesser human. for gods sake wake up politicians of pakistan. you have bigger problems to solve.

why is this news? Arsalan is a corrupt person and the data he seeks is public information. Just because he is son of an ex-CJ doesn't mean that his childish acts should prompt prestigious newspaper like Dawn to give it prime spot. Would dawn be publishing Arsalan's dinner menu as well or the times he had to relieve himself? Or is Dawn trying to become a tabloid newspaper.

The ECP should have cooperated so promptly with those seeking justice against rigging but sadly they only serve the interests of their masters and not the common man or at least it looks that way. ECP being so proactive now just goes on tell that they or their handlers want Imran Khan to stop pursuing the rigging. They have become so desperate and low that even now I believe that there was massive rigging and the authority is trying every possible way to stop Imran from exposing the fraudulent elections. Hope this gets posted and hope that the evil gets exposed.

@Anonymous if i recall many years ago a DNA test was done on Imran Khans request correct me if i am wrong but it did prove that he was her father, i read it somewhere, i still do not understand what all this is about why has this Iftikhar person has raised this issue now i saw him on TV he does not seem to string two words together.

@Taimur I totally agree to You. Plus i would add that Imran Khan had a chance to rectify his mistake when former CJ did not hear the Tahir Ul Qadri's petition against illegal election commission. Anyway its never too late I hope Imran Khan now gets rid of JI soon

The Election Commission of Pakistan failed to investigate the rigging in four ridings but it provided the copies of the nomination papers of Imran Khan to the son of ex Chief Justice within one week.
I suggest every concerned Pakistani should apply to Election Commission of Pakistan to provide them the copy of nomination papers of each and every member Parliament of PML/N, PPP, ANP and JUI , senators, Prime Minister and Chief Ministers.
I think it will be not too hard to find all these members of not being "honest and trustworthy", adding that the latter did not fulfill the criteria for being a representative of the people, as set in Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution

He can continue objecting and challenging election irregularities but should not have let it become his only aim. His conduct has been a disappointment and he will certainly be a looser in the next election!

Mr. Arsalan is missing the point. What Mr. Imran does in his personal life, so long it is not illegal is his personal matter. Allegations even if proven are of civil nature. What Mr. Arsalan is accused of is:
1. Tax evasion.
2. Abusing his fathers office to make money.
These are serious criminal charges.

Very dirty politics. As for those who say IK is only indulging in agitatiional politics, take a tour of KP to feel the positive difference. Progress is about improving the lot of ALL, not a select few. PTI is at this point is the only answer to a withering Pakistan. It is neither a populist party nor a feudal one and its for us as voters to realize that we need to bring them in to power rather than criticizing every move of PTI and Imran. Do an apples to apples comparison of the parties and PTI in my opinion will win hands down.
