GADO (Upper Kurram): Three people were killed and 13 others injured in firing during a tribal jirga of the Mangal tribe here on Monday.

According to the local administration, the jirga had been convened to settle a land dispute, but people belonging to rival groups started firing on each other after an exchange of hot words.

Political Tehsildar Javedullah said that three people were killed and 13 others injured in the firing. The injured were taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar.

Two of the injured, whose condition was critical, were taken to a Peshawar hospital.

Names of the victims could not be known till late in the night.
