SUKKUR: The Sindh government has set up an entry counter at Dera Morr to keep a record of people crossing into the province.

Dera Morr is situated near Kashmore town along the Sindh-Balochistan border.

The entry counter, supervised by Kashmore DSP Khalid Ahmed Junejo and SHO Sikandar Soomoro, started its work on Monday.

DSP Junejo told the media that details of not only passengers but the crew of the vehicles transporting them were being documented.

This would help police maintain a record of residents, settlers and visitors of Sindh, he said, adding that the aim was to keep a strict check on movement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other people from the troubled areas of North Waziristan besides documenting the purpose and actual destination of these people.

Special arrangements had been made to identify the passengers and verify their data and statements about final destination in Sindh and purpose of the visit, he added.He said that there were only three IDPs among those who entered Sindh on Monday.

He said no one without a CNIC was being allowed into the province.

The DSP said that verification of particulars of women and children was also being done.
