Five, out of six routes to Karachi airport sealed

KARACHI: Following the deadly attack on Karachi airport, five out of the six total routes to Karachi airport have been sealed, DawnNews reported on Saturday.

The step has been taken to enhance security measures and ensure search operations taking place after the airport attack left 37 dead.

Ways to the airport from Gulistan-i-Johar, Pehlwan Goth, Nathan Khan Goth, Model Colony and adjoining areas have been sealed, while only one way from Shahrah-i-Faisal has been operational.

On Tuesday, suspected militants targeted an Airport Security Force’s camp, that resulted in a brief suspension of flight operations.

There were no causalities in the attack, however, responsibility was also claimed by the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.

Citizens are sufferers. They pay the price of security and intellegence failure through blood followed by inconvenience. The day to day illogical security measures will not get anything. It was airport yesterday tomorrow they r going to attack Railway. How many platforms you are going to secure? Improve intellegence network!! That's all you have to do.

Too little too late. Terrorists are busy choosing their next target and planning their attack. Terrorists are always 3 steps ahead. The security agencies will always be playing catch up with them, unless the leadership shows determination and hire competent people to run the affairs.

@islam: Please try to understand that countries are not friends. They have interests only. If China was all weather friend then where have they been in 48', 65' and 71. They have been all over the country to invest though (I am not against it). They are helping with Gwadar and in other areas but that is solely because of their interests not because they are kind-hearted friends.

instead of partial shut down of the city, why don't we just shut down the entire city... complete curfew, no movement of any kind.. that will solve all the problem. No crime, we can send our rangers home, minimum police requirement. just Army patrolling the the city... It's very hard to know what wisdom is.
