KARACHI: The director general of the Civil Aviation Authority has assured both local and international airlines that security matters at the airports were being revisited and more serious steps will also be taken to make security at the country’s airports foolproof in the coming days.

He was speaking at a meeting held with representatives of various airlines on Thursday to help restore their confidence following the terrorist attack at Karachi airport last Sunday night. Earlier, the representatives of the foreign carriers operating in the country also conveyed their point of view and expressed their concern over the existing situation.

The airline whose representatives attended the meeting included: Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Gulf Air, Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Oman Air, Fly Dubai, Lufthansa Airlines, Thai Airways, Saudia Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air Blue, Shaheen Air International, PIAC, Air Arabia, Air Indus, Sri Lankan Airlines, Fly Nas and Kam Air.
