Five dacoits arrested

SUKKUR, July 13: The Kandhkot police arrested five dacoits after a brief encounter and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition on Sunday.

The TPO, Kandhkot, was tipped off that some outlaws were hiding near the Kandhkot bypass. So the police cordoned off the area.

Soon an exchange of fire took place between the dacoits and police. Later, five dacoits were arrested. Two rocket launchers, two Kalashnikovs, and two TT pistols were recovered from their possession.

The names of the arrested dacoits were ascertained as Nazir Mangho, Ghulam Ali Mamdani, Nazir Golo, Ghulam Abbas Lohar and Saifal Mamdani.

SIX INJURED: Six people were injured in an exchange of fire between two groups of the Pohore tribe in the Misri Pohore village, near Thal, Jacobabad district, on Sunday.

The clash started over water distribution as a result of which Bharai Hayat, Dodo, Asghar, Rehmatullah, Abdullah and Ghulam Qadir were injured.—Correspondent
