Gulam claims under-12 title

KARACHI, July 12: Top seed Gulam Abbas clinched boys Under-12 title of All Pakistan Talent Hunt Tennis Championship when he outgunned Mustafa Ali in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday at Karachi Gymkhana.

Gulam proved too strong for the unseeded Mustafa in every facet of the game and was never extended in either of the sets.

Akber Patudi and Adnan lifted the juniors Under-18 doubles crown when they overcaome Hyderabad’s pair of Saad Baloch and Samad Baloch 6-2,6-3 in the final that lasted for one hour and 15 minutes.

Saad however redeemed himself when he reached the final of boys under-16 overcoming the loss of the first set to beat second seed Anil Das 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The remaining finals boys under-18, girls under-18, boys under-16 and boys under-14 singles will be played tomorrow (Snday).
