VEHARI, Dec 16: A man was killed and 20 other passengers were injured when a bus overturned on Sunday on Burewala-Mian Channu Road.

The bus (LPT-1526) was going to Mian Channu from Burewala. When it reached near vegetable market in Burewala, it overturned and fell into a ditch in a bid to save a cyclist. Bus conductor Akram died on the spot while 20 passengers sustained injuries.

They were admitted to the Burewala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The seriously injured passengers include Mumtaz Bibi, Shahzad, Bashir and Rashid Ahmad of Chak 158-EB Burewala.

However, police claimed that the bus overturned while overtaking another bus as the driver lost control over steering.

The bus driver manage to escape from the scene.
