QUETTA, July 11: The people belonging to the Hazara tribe on Friday held their first public protest meeting here at the scene of the July 4 carnage and urged the government to expose the culprits patronizing terrorists involved in the July 4 carnage.

Earlier, women belonging to the Hazara tribe also organized a rally and marched from the Alamdar Road to the Marriabad graveyard, chanting slogans against the government while demanding immediate arrests of the killers. Later, they dispersed peacefully.

Tahir Khan Hazara, while speaking at the Nachari Imambargah, criticized the law enforcement agencies’ inefficiency, saying that they had been unsuccessful in arresting anti-social elements involved in killing innocent persons.

Urging the government to protect the lives and properties of each and every citizen without any discrimination, Mr Hazara said that if it could not do so, it had no right to remain in power.

Recalling the recent killings of the police recruits near Quetta, he said that the government had reassured leaders of the Hazara community that it would arrest criminals involved in that incident within a short period of time but it had failed to fulfil its promise in this regard.
