KARACHI, Dec 16: KDA director-general, Brig Zaheer Quadri, has assured the elected representatives of Jacoblines that the locality will shortly be declared no-parking zone.

Taking notice of a complaint put up at a meeting by Jutland Lane’s Nazim, Mehfooz-un-Nabi Khan that the terminus of up- country bound buses in the area had become a nuisance for the residents, he asked the Lines Area Re-development Project’s director, Rasool Bakhsh Phulpoto, to take immediate measures for removing the terminus.

The Nazim told the D-G that the up-country bound jumbo-sized buses which often remained parked on different streets of Jacob Lines were not only creating noise pollution but were also causing damage to roads.

Moreover, haphazard parking of these vehicles often creates hindrance in the flow of traffic and not only the residents but even the students and patients of nearby hospitals get perturbed.

He also apprised the meeting that the City Council had already adopted a unanimous resolution, seeking removal of the bus terminus from Jacob Lines.
