How can Pakistan assist the aggression when it has not solved a single problem within its own country. These politicians who are not serious with their own country can only help creating more mess in Ukraine than lend a helping hand. Pakitan's army cannot protect its own borders and the terrorists keep crossing the borders freely, arms are flowing into the country freely, drugs coming freely and most men in uniform here are morally and financially corrupt, not sincere and honest with their own children' future, what do you expect from them? Also if you are seeking help from American, keep in view the example of Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, help comes with conditions and more mess will be created in the name of peace. To ask anyone to help you, its better to find solution by talking direct with Putin. You may loose a great deal but it will still be better than creating situation like Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan. Having an independant state may not be a good choice if thousands are killed by Russians and if help comes from foreign with strings attached, this will be permanent deterioration of your country for all times to come.

Don't get involved in another regional controversy

Pakistan and Russia love Ukraine and Ukrainians. Russia is not attacking Ukraine but helping save them from NATO/USA alliance. And of-course, if US doesn't back off meddling at Russia's borders, than Russia has a right to protect itself and to protect Russians. If Ukraine needs help from Pakistan than Pakistan can help them understand that alliance with USA will lead to enslavement of their people and destruction of country, by showing a real life example, Pakistan! Pakistan must NEVER distance itself from Russia. This is an opportunity for Pakistan to mend past mistakes and ally itself with The Russian Federation. Where ever they went and governed, they provided for the people, not take or loot from the people, as the British/US empires have done. Whether it be Central Asia, Eastern Europe, or Russia own autonomous regions, Russia has left a trail of scientific, real economic, sports, arts, etc., achievements.

@daniel shiger my friend freedom is freedom, and there is no substitute for it. By your logic, Russia should not have fought Nazi Germany but just capitulated. Russia fought for its freedom , just like Ukraine is doing. Pakistan should support Ukraine morally otherwise Russian invasion and occupation of Ukraine will be the same as Indian invasion and occupation of Kashmir and the freedom movement continues 67 years on.

The only involvement Pakistan can try to offer is to help mend differences between Russia and Ukraine. It is clear that this crisis was instigated by west, with America playing leading role, perhaps the tit for tat response for Russian stance in Syria. Pakistan cannot afford to take sides here as we enjoy a good relationship with Ukraine specially in the field of defense and on the other hand we don't want the repeat of Soviet era Afghan war. We simply cannot be seen to be on the wrong side of agenda dictated and set by America. Not in million years.

Internal affairs of Russia & Ukraine. Pakistan should play a neutral role.

Why Pakistan? Why not India? Putin is a former KGB agent and he can go to any extent to redraw the lines of Soviet Union.Challenge for central asia becoming reality and policy makers of Pakistan have no time to blink their eyes,remain calm and vigilant but don't close your eyes and think everything is OK,Cat and Pigeon theory is rightly applicable here.

Pakistan should have a neutral (no comments) approach on this one. Although generally Pakistan sympathizes with the weaker party but these days we need to get our house in order first. If things would have been good probably Pakistan would and should have taken sides (probably Ukrainian) but now is the time to focus on domestic issues. Ukraine there are other big countries you can ask help from and the only suggestion I have is that Ukraine should look at its long term objectives rather than short term gains.

Pakistan must amend her relations with Russia (along with immediate neighbors, India, Afghanistan, Iran and make them even better with China) and not with countries located thousands of miles away and have no real interest in the well being of area surrounding and including Pakistan.

Russia has been India's oldest friend. Even Putin said it in one of his speech. So Pakistan can think twice about getting aid from Russia. The problem with Pakistan is that they always blame others for their mistakes. Pakis say that American exploited them. Didn't American's give you guys tons of money to fight for terrorism? What did you filthy govt do with the money? They instead used the money to arm themselves against India. How do you expect American's to forgive you guys when you double cross them. Pakistan has also suffered from Russian aggression and interference in Afghanistan over 3 decades ago. Then again after the WOT began, India dovetailed with Russia by interjecting itself into Afghanistan and wreaking havoc in Pakistan as well under the guise of " assisting " Afghanistan. Ukraine knows this back history so they know Pakistani armed forces are some of the best and bravest in the world which is why Saudia, Bahrain, Jordan, etc.. all request their services.

WOW wat a tricky question for PAKISTAN.....history says Pakistan have been anti Russia, going back to Afghanistan war back in 1980's...Now since they have been pounded by America in SWAT, Waziristan,FATA...they have become anti America.If they support AMERICA(which is implicitly supporting NATO-of which Pakistan has been a part) OR UKRAINE they draw ire of Russia once again. And if they support RUSSIA they bear the brunt of AMERICA/NATO or might loose the US AID on which heir economy id thriving.... Conclusion its a double whammy...!!

@muhammad haider Bhaijaan i understand PAK plight under American alliance, but unfortunately Pak was also among the countries tacitly supporting the Chechen cause against Russia (which was then trying to maintain its territorial integrity), So why not Pak chooses its allies in a manner which respects its sovereignity rather making itself a satellite of that....!!
