ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed on Tuesday assured the National Assembly (NA) that a comprehensive report regarding unavailability of textbooks to the students in federal government schools would be submitted on Thursday.
Replying to a point of order raised by the members including Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak and Malik Abrar, the state minister said the government had decided to provide free education from classes one to 10, and unavailability of textbooks to the students despite the start of academic year was unfortunate.
Sheikh Aftab assured the National Assembly that he would discuss the issue with the Secretary, Capital Administration and Development Division, and would come to the House on Thursday with a comprehensive report.
He said a committee would be constituted comprising MNAs which would visit educational institutions in the Islamabad Capital Territory to check available facilities.
