KARACHI, July 8: The newly appointed President of Sindh Cricket Association (SCA) Hasib Ahsan said on Tuesday that they (SCA) will be striving to promote cricket from grass- root level and create competitiveness in new regional first class cricket.

“To be frank right now I am unclear on many things but we would be looking to promote cricket in Sindh region”, former Test cricketer and chief Selector Hasib Ahsan in an interview.

Hasib said Aslam Sanjrani has been appointed secretary SCA.

After the revival of SCA, all the district associations will affiliate with it.

Hasib will be giving guidance support and assistance in improving the standard of cricket to all provincial districts. He said they (SCA) will take along all the associations in Sindh for the cause of sport.

He said SCA will also try to revive cricket at school, college and universities and club level which he said had gone down badly.

He said mushroom growth of coaching academies with commercial purpose cannot lift the standard of cricket.—APP
